Peter Martin
The work of Peter Martin is concerned with questions of place and what meaning it has in our lives.
Current work aims to explore how we experience place, the significance it has for us and by extension the relationship we have with our environment.
The intention of this work is that it should combine with the location that it is in to heighten and enhance the viewers’ experience and perception of that place, whilst simultaneously triggering memories of other places they have known.
Materials and configurations of materials are used that suggest memories or resonances of places, such as stones and footprints and combined in simple and sometimes contradictory acts of transformation.
Peter teaches at the Norwich School of Art.
